San Jose, Calif. – A man died after being struck by a car on Tuesday night in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The auto-pedestrian accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 near McKee Road.

25-year-old Justine Rivas of San Jose woman was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry north on Highway 101 when it struck an elderly pedestrian.

The unidentified pedestrian died at the accident scene.

Rivas was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked into the jail. Her bail was set at $175,000.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
