, Calif. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car at an intersection in on Thursday night.

The crash happened near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Sand Canyon Road at around 5:41 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A pedestrian was reportedly walking at the intersection and was struck by a car.

L.A. County Fire officials responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved car stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
