, Calif. – One person was killed in a car crash on Saturday morning near Scotts Valley in County.

The collision happened around 8:40 a.m. at 361 Kings Village Road at the skate park's parking lot, according to Santa Cruz police.

63-year-old Richard Wells was driving a white Subaru when he crashed into an unoccupied sedan at the park's parking lot.

Wells, a Santa Cruz resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation report, the Subaru had been spotted driving erratically prior to the collision.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
