Lake County, California (July 20, 2022) – A man was killed in a in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday morning.

At around 6:48 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a motorcycle accident on Black Bart Avenue near Hank Monk Avenue.

The 47-year-old man was riding a 2009 Yamaha when he was struck by a Toyota driven by a 40-year-old woman.

Officials say the Toyota was making a left turn onto Black Bart from Hank Monk when it struck the motorcyclist traveling north on Black Bart.

CHP says the motorcyclist was seriously injured and was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital where he died.

The identity of the deceased person was not disclosed.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
