The accident was reported at around 10:40 p.m. on Interstate 10 Freeway near Monroe Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A black pickup truck was traveling on the roadway when it rear-ended a semi-truck in unclear circumstances.
Officials say one person was killed in the accident.
