1 Killed in Highway 99 Car Accident near Shanks Road in Delhi, Merced County
Merced, California (October 10, 2021) – A pickup truck driver was killed in a collision near Delhi in Merced County early Sunday morning.
The deadly crash happened at about 1:25 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Shanks Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck when he crashed into a construction barrier on northbound Highway 99 and overturned.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was hit by four other vehicles traveling north.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the other involved vehicles pulled over at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
