Fatal Collision Reported on Eastbound 80 Freeway near El Portal Drive in Richmond
Richmond, California (September 27, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in northern Richmond early Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the deadly collision occurred at about 4:50 a.m. on Interstate Highway 80 Freeway near El Portal Drive.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash but the events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.

One person was killed in the morning crash.
The identity of the deceased was yet to be disclosed.
The collision closed the numbers one and two eastbound lanes of I-80 and motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
More information about the accident was not available.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
