Oakland, CA.- One person was killed while another was injured when a suspect being pursued by the authorities struck two pedestrians in Oakland on Wednesday evening, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Just before 8 p.m. May 28, CHP officers were pursuing a suspect in the area of Park Boulevard and East 21st Street when the suspect collided with another vehicle.
The officers stopped the chase but the suspect continued on and collided with two pedestrians along 12th Street.
One of the pedestrians died at the scene while the second was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
A person involved in the initial collision was left with minor to moderate injuries.
The suspect reportedly fled on foot but was caught shortly after and arrested.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
