1 Suffers Major Injuries in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 near Sunset Avenue in Arcata
Arcata, California (July 26, 2022) – One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident in Arcata, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident happened at around 5:26 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, on southbound Highway 101, near Sunset Avenue.
A Chevrolet Tahoe and an SUV collided for unknown reasons and went off the roadway. Debris from the crash was left blocking traffic lanes.
A person reporting the accident said the car's occupants were able to get out, and one of them had blood on him.
Firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the No. 2 lane.
One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Chevy was towed away with major front-end damage and the SUV with major rear-end damage.
CHP is investigating the accident.
