69-Year-Old Man Injured in San Diego Accident on Coronado Avenue near Imperial Beach

, California (April 22, 2022) – A man riding a motorcycle sustained major injuries in a collision with a vehicle in San Diego's Egger Highlands neighborhood on Thursday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The 69-year-old man in a 2003 Honda Shadow was heading east on Avenue when he collided with an oncoming 2002 Toyota Corolla that made a turn in front of him.

The collision occurred at around 6:50 p.m. on April 21, just east of Beach.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with multiple fractures to his left leg.

The rider's injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the Toyota, a 64-year-old man, and his two passengers were not injured in the incident.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the accident, according to police.

The crash is under investigation.
