A big rig reportedly slammed into the rear of another semi-truck on 5 Freeway leaving one person seriously injured

Los Angeles, Calif. – One person was severely injured in a traffic collision involving two semi-trucks in Gorman near the Grapevine on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. on the 5 Freeway near Smoke Bear Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A big rig reportedly slammed into the rear of another semi-truck in unclear circumstances.
One patient's leg was severed in the crash and the patient had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire crews.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
