Gerardo Morales Killed, Woman in Serious Condition after North Hills Crash at Nordhoff Street and Langdon Avenue
North Hills, California (October 19, 2021) – The authorities in North Hills are investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 18-month-old Gerardo Sebastian Chavez Morales and left a woman with serious injuries on Sunday morning, as per a Los Angeles Fire Department report.
The deadly crash happened at around 7:35 a.m. October 17, in the 15500 block of West Nordhoff Street.
The CHP established that a 2016 Honda CRV was heading westbound on Nordhoff Street when it attempted to make a left turn onto Langdon Avenue when it collided with a gray Toyota Camry.
Toddler Struck and Killed in Crash at North Hills Intersection Identified
The impact of the crash caused the Honda to jump the curb and strike the woman and the toddler in a stroller.
Both victims were standing on the southeast corner of the intersection, near a food cart when they were struck. The Honda reportedly pushed the stroller against a retaining wall.
The child and the woman were transported to a hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.
One of the drivers stayed at the scene, while the other left the scene, but later came forward to police.
No arrests or charges were made.
The factors contributing to the tragic crash will be established when authorities conclude their investigation.
