2 Kids Suffer Severe Injuries Following Major DUI Collision in Merced County

County, CA. – Two children were hospitalized with severe injuries following a suspected DUI collision on Monday night in Merced, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred a while after 8:30 p.m. on July 8, on Highway 152 just west of Road.

Police said a Camry was driving west on Highway 152 when she crashed into a Nissan's back while trying to pass. The two drivers lost control and collided.

Two children riding in the Camry were hospitalized with severe injuries. The two kids were not wearing seat belts at the time.

The woman operating the Nissan sustained minor injuries.

The Camry driver, a 25-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was arrested for DUI.

An investigation is ongoing.
