Brentwood, Calif. – Two people are dead following a two-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 4 in Brentwood early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Responding crews located two vehicles, including a black sedan that appeared completely smashed, at the scene.
Medical personnel from AMR declared two people dead at the scene at about 5:14 a.m. The deceased were the sole occupants of their vehicles, according to CONFIRE.
All lanes of the highway were blocked due to the collision, according to Oakley PD. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
The identities of the victims were withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation.
