, California (November 8, 2021) – Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision that happened in Union City on Sunday evening, according to the Union City Police Department.

The incident was reported on Whipple Road west of Central Avenue just before 5:45 p.m. November 7.

According to investigators, a red Acura TL was heading east on Whipple Road when it collided head-on with an oncoming dark-colored Honda Pilot.

Drivers Killed in 2-Vehicle Accident in Union City

The driver of the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene by the County firefighters who attempted life-saving measures on them.

The other driver was rushed to a hospital, where they were also pronounced deceased.

The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released pending notification of the next of kin.

Whipple Road was closed between Central Avenue and Hayman Street as crews worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
