Nipomo, CA – Two people are dead following a three-vehicle collision caused by a suspected wrong-way driver on Orchard Road in Nipomo Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The double fatal collision happened around 6:27 p.m. on April 28 in the 1380 block of Orchard Road.
CHP officials said a white pickup truck heading southbound on Orchard Road may have crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV and a third vehicle near Cherry Blossom Place.
Two people – a male driver of the pickup and a female driver of the SUV – were pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the victims have not been released.
The driver of the third vehicle sustained minor injuries.
