At Least 2 Injured in Santa Clarita Accident on Sand Canyon Road
Santa Clarita, California (July 7, 2022) – At least two people were injured in a crash that sent two vehicles down an embankment in Santa Clarita late Wednesday night, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The incident happened on Sand Canyon Road near Little Tujunga Canyon Road at about 11:05 p.m. on July 6.
According to the report, a silver Hyundai Sonata and a silver Volkswagen were involved in the wreck.
The impact sent the Hyundai nearly 200 feet off the side of the roadway.
2 Hospitalized after Santa Clarita Crash on Sand Canyon Road
The two occupants of the Hyundai were extricated by firefighters with major injuries and were transported to hospital.
One of the extricated parties is suspected to have sustained a partial amputation and was airlifted to a hospital.
The Volkswagen reportedly overturned off the side of the road following the collision.
None of the occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
