One Person Arrested After Motorcycle Crash in Barstow Sends 2 to Hospital

, CA. – A man and a woman were hospitalized with serious injuries after a motorcycle crashed Sunday afternoon on a transition road in Barstow, the California Highway Patrol Barstow Area Office reported.

The man riding the motorcycle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The incident was reported to authorities around 4:52 p.m. on June 22 on the southbound Interstate 15 to the westbound State Route 58 transition road.

Authorities said a 41-year-old Barstow man was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson with a 43-year-old Barstow woman as his passenger.

Investigators are still working to determine why the motorcycle left the roadway and began overturning multiple times.

The Barstow Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after the incident.

Both riders were airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, causing injury.

CHP officers are investigating the accident.
