2 Injured in Santa Barbara Car Accident on Highway 101 near Milpas Street On-Ramp
Santa Barbara, California (August 19, 2022) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision that took place Friday afternoon in Santa Barbara, as per a local news source.
The four-vehicle crash took place at about 4:55 p.m. on Highway 101, south of the Milpas Street on-ramp.
According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the vehicles collided in the southbound lanes, blocking the left-hand and center lanes.
One person was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be freed by the firefighters. That person and another victim were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by American Medical Response ambulance with minor injuries.
Southbound traffic on the freeway was backed up following the pileup.
CHP is investigating the collision.
