The Tesla went off the roadway, slammed through a perimeter fence, before crossing the two Frontage Road lanes and crashed into an embankment

Apple Valley, CA. – Two people were hurt in a crash in Apple Valley on Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on northbound 15 Freeway near Stoddard Wells Road at around 10:47 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.
A man behind the wheel of a Tesla Model Y reportedly choked on coffee while driving and lost control.
The Tesla went off the roadway, slammed through a perimeter fence, before crossing the two Frontage Road lanes and crashed into an embankment.
The vehicle burst into flames but both occupants were able to escape the fire.
The driver and his female passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
