2 People Injured in Chico Crash on Highway 99 at Gaia Road
Chico, California (June 12, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Friday morning traffic accident that left two people injured in Chico.
The crash occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 at Gaia Way.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was headed southbound on the highway when she drifted into the northbound lane.
Unfortunately, the woman crashed head-on into a big rig that was traveling northbound, causing two other vehicles to be involved.
Two people sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The northbound lane of Highway 99 was closed due to the accident until about 6:45 a.m.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
