2 Injured in Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Coronado Avenue in Chula Vista
San Diego, California (August 8, 2022) – Two people were hospitalized after being injured near Chula Vista in San Diego on Sunday evening, Aug 7.
The accident was reported at around 6:28 p.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway near Coronado Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision. The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to overturn.
Two people were pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the firefighters who responded to the incident.
CHP says two people were seriously injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
