Quartzsite, Ariz. – Two people were injured in a big rig collision in Quartzsite early Tuesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The crash was reported at about 5 a.m. on Interstate 10 at milepost 15.
According to the report, a semi-truck driver approaching the area braked abruptly for roadway construction and slammed into the rear of a fuel tanker.
Both vehicles burst into flames following the accident.
Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
The eastbound side of I-10 was shut down as authorities investigated the crash.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
