CHP said a semi-trailer was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Somavia Road and was struck by a northbound Ford

Salinas, CA.- Two juveniles and a toddler from Chualar, were injured in a collision involving a big rig near Salinas on Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 101 and Somavia Road at about 5:32 p.m. November 19.
CHP said a semi-trailer was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Somavia Road and was struck by a northbound Ford.
Two juveniles and a toddler from Chualar were riding in the Ford.
A toddler and one of the juveniles were extricated from the vehicle.
All occupants of the Ford were transported to a hospital and one of the juveniles had to be airlifted to a trauma center.
The operator of the big rig was unhurt.
The accident is under investigation.
