Reportedly, a patrol car was driving westbound on Niles Street when a vehicle driving northbound crashed into the patrol car after failing to stop for the stop sign at the intersection.

Bakersfield, CA. – Two people were killed and a 2-year-old was critically injured in a vehicle collision at an intersection in Bakersfield Sunday morning.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the wreck occurred at the intersection of Niles Street and Kern Street at around 5:40 a.m. October 13.
Reportedly, a patrol car was driving westbound on Niles Street when a vehicle driving northbound crashed into the patrol car after failing to stop for the stop sign at the intersection.
The driver of the other vehicle was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The front passenger, a woman, was hospitalized at a local hospital, where she later died. A 2-year-old child in the vehicle was also hospitalized, with life-threatening injuries.
The officers in the patrol car were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
The police said alcohol and drugs might have played a role in the mishap.
