Flagstaff, AZ. – Two people died when two commercial vehicles collided early Thursday morning on Interstate 40 near Flagstaff, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The wreck occurred around 3 a.m. near the eastbound off-ramp to Parks.
Authorities said two commercial vehicles, including a semi-truck, were involved in the collision.
One of the vehicles was stopped at a fork in the roadway and the driver exited to inspect the tires.
The other vehicle slammed into the stopped vehicle, causing major damage.
Authorities said the driver and co-driver of the stopped vehicle died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver and co-driver of the other vehicle were not hurt.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
