Phoenix, AZ.- Two people were killed in a crash involving a big rig in Phoenix on Tuesday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash happened near 33rd and Grand avenues at about 7 a.m.
According to police, a car traveling at a high rate of speed northwest on Grand Avenue slammed into a large truck and trailer turning onto 33rd Avenue from Grand Avenue.
The two people riding in the car were killed in the crash.
The driver of the big rig was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Roads in the area were shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
