2 Killed in Head-On Collision on River Road near Azevedo Road in Newman
Newman, California (February 21, 2022) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision in Newman, near Modesto, early Monday morning.
The deadly collision happened on River Road near Azevedo Road at around 5:22 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2022 Ram 1500 was traveling north on River Road when the driver drifted into the southbound lanes to pass a big rig and collided head-on with an oncoming 2005 Nissan Maxima.
The Ram caught fire and became engulfed in flames after the collision.

The drivers of the pickup truck and the Nissan were killed in the accident.
The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
