2 Killed in San Francisco Collision on Highway 101

San Francisco, California (November 26, 2021) – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in San Francisco early Friday morning, the authorities said.
The crash, which occurred on Highway 101 just south of the 18th Street overpass, was reportedly triggered by a wrong-way motorist.
At around 3 a.m., a 27-year-old San Francisco man was driving a 2016 Honda Civic southbound on northbound Highway 101 when he collided head-on with an oncoming 2014 Toyota Camry.
A northbound transit van then collided with the Camry after the initial collision.

A passenger in the Civic, a 47-year-old Daly City man, died at the scene of the incident.
The driver of the Camry, a 56-year-old Daly City man, was extricated by firefighters and rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased just before 11 a.m.
The driver of the van was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The operator of the Civic was placed under arrest on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He was taken to the San Francisco Hospital with major injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
