Buellton, CA. – Two people were hospitalized after a traffic collision involving a Tesla that happened Monday morning in Buellton.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the wreck was reported on Highway 246, involving a Tesla and a Suburban SUV.
Authorities said the SUV hit the driver's side of the Tesla under unclear circumstances.
The elderly man driving the Tesla got trapped inside.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the driver before transporting him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with serious injuries.
An adult woman in the SUV was taken to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital with injuries considered not very severe.
A young man in the SUV refused ambulance transport.
It was unclear who was driving the SUV at the time of the collision.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
