Malheur County, Ore. – Jenny Fitzgerald, 51, of Ontario, and Shauna Yraguen, 55, of Vale were seriously injured in a car crash in Ontario Friday afternoon.
According to the Oregon State Police, the collision happened on Highway 20, about 6 miles west of Cairo Junction.
Reports indicated that Fitzgerald was driving a westbound Nissan SUV on black ice conditions when the car veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Subaru Outback driven by Yraguen.
Both sole drivers in the cars were transported to the hospital with serious injuries for treatment.
Both vehicles suffered significant damage and were towed from the crash site.
