Ventura County, CA – Two women were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Ventura County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at about 12:10 p.m. on Highway 101 near Lakeview Canyon Road.
The CHP said two vehicles crashed on the southbound side of Highway 101 and set off a chain-reaction involving three other cars.
Three of the vehicles were pushed off the side of the roadway. One of them overturned while another slammed into a tree.
Two women riding in two separate vehicles were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
The highway was shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
