Jefferson Park, CA.- Three persons were taken to the hospital following a traffic collision on Sunday evening in Jefferson Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash happened at 6.00 p.m. on Adams Boulevard near Gramercy Place.
Officers said that they received a call of a psychiatric patient with a knife and were responding to the call when their patrol vehicle crashed into at least one other car.
A man and two officers sustained injuries in the accident.
The man was freed from the car unconscious and breathing. He was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
The two officers suffered minor injuries and were also hospitalized.
