Montecito, Calif. – Three people were injured, two severely after a head-on collision on Highway 101 in Montecito early Saturday morning.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident happened on State Route 101 near Hot Springs Road at around 2:45 a.m.
Reports stated that a red Chevy Silverado collided head-on with a tan Chevy suburban in unclear circumstances. The impact left the pickup on its side and the suburban was upright.
Both drivers sustained moderate to severe injuries and a third person suffered minor injuries. They were all rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by AMR ambulance.
Their identities were not immediately disclosed.
No additional information about the mishap was provided.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remains under investigation.
