Fort Jones, Calif. – Three people were injured, with one sustaining serious injuries, after two vehicles collided on Highway 3 near Fort Jones Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 7:41 p.m. in the area of Highway 3 and Forest Mountain Summit.

According to the CHP, responding crews located two vehicles, one had crashed into the mountain and the second was on the other side of the highway.

Authorities said a total of three people were injured in the crash. One of the patients had serious injuries.
