3 Hospitalized after Watts Car Crash near Compton Avenue and 111th Street in Watts

Watts, California (June 30, 2022) – According to a local news source, three people were hospitalized after a high-speed crash involving parked vehicles early morning in Watts, Los Angeles County.
The collision occurred at about 2:00 a.m. near Compton Avenue and 111th Street.
As per the report, a driver was heading southbound on Compton Avenue when it slammed into several parked cars before hitting a power pole. The impact caused the pole to land on a house top, causing a fire and blackout.
It is unknown how many residents were without electricity and when it would be restored following the collision.
The involved driver was reportedly driving at high speed before the collision.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and transported three people injured in the crash to a medical center to treat broken bones.
Officials suspect DUI and speed to be factors that contributed to the collision.
