Coconino County, AZ. – Three people suffered fatal injuries in a suspected DUI car crash on Highway 89 in Coconino County Sunday afternoon.
According to the Arizona Police, the traffic collision happened at around 3:15 p.m. on May 12 on the southbound State Route 89 near milepost 492.
Reports indicated that a northbound pickup truck went off right onto the shoulder, overcorrected to the left back into the southbound lane, and crashed a southbound vehicle.
Three of the five people in the suspect's vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their identities were not immediately disclosed.
The suspect was arrested for DUI.
The wreck is under investigation.
