Monterey Park, CA. – Three people died, and two others were injured in a high-speed crash that happened early Friday morning in Monterey Park, authorities said.
The collision took place around 12:30 a.m. at Graves Avenue and Cecil Street.
According to police, a Jeep SUV soared through the air, possibly hit a tree, and then crashed into several vehicles parked in a driveway before overturning onto its roof.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found three people trapped inside the damaged SUV.
Another victim was found on the roof of a nearby home.
Three people, including the one who was ejected onto the roof, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others, including a 7-year-old child, were hospitalized.
Investigators said the driver of the car was speeding prior to the collision.
