3 Killed in Fresno Car Accident at Highway 41 and Nebraska Avenue Identified

Fresno, CA. – The Sheriff's Office has identified three people who died in a car crash near Caruthers on Friday evening.

The accident happened at Highway 41 and Nebraska Avenue at around 7 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

57-year-old Mark Bruce, of Fresno, was driving a 2000 Chevy Silverado westbound on Nebraska Avenue and when he failed to stop at the posted stop sign and collided with a southbound 2020 Dodge Ram pulling a travel trailer.

Bruce was killed in the accident.

Two passengers of the Chevy, 18-year-old Blanca Villegas of and 17-year-old Dezirae Perez of Fresno were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

A third woman from the Chevy was also ejected from the car and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center.

Police say the driver of the Dodge driver suffered moderate injuries while his male passenger was hospitalized with major injuries. A juvenile passenger reported complaints of pain.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
