A Toyota Tacoma was traveling north in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Mercedes Benz

Humboldt County, Calif. – Three people were killed in a fiery car crash that occurred just north of Rio Dell in Humboldt County on Sunday night.
At around 10:37 p.m., the CHP Humboldt Communications Center (HCC) received reports of a collision on Highway 101 near Metropolitan Road.
A 2015 Toyota Tacoma was traveling north in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2010 Mercedes Benz C300.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes and a passenger were also pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional information about the accident was not released.
CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
