3 People Hospitalized after Chula Vista Crash on Olympic Parkway
Chula Vista, California (July 6, 2022) – Three people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon in Chula Vista, authorities said.
The major injury crash occurred at about 1:06 p.m., on July 3, on Olympic Parkway.
According to the officials, a Mercedes driven by a woman was traveling eastbound on the roadway when it lost control, crashed into the center divider, and hit a tree.
As a result of the collision, the Mercedes reportedly went airborne and struck another vehicle head-on that was operated by a man in the number two westbound lane.
The Mercedes then flipped and hit the Mercedes SUV in the number one lane before landing in the center divider again.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the woman who was trapped in the wreckage.
The woman, the man, and another female who was a passenger in the second vehicle sustained major injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
