3 Injured, 1 Airlifted after El Granada Car Accident on Highway 1 at Half Moon Bay Airport

El Granada, California (August 10, 2022) – Three people were injured, one of them requiring to be airlifted, after two vehicles were involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon in El Granada, a village in northern San Mateo County, as per a local news source.
Police suspect alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision that transpired at around 4:15 p.m. on Highway 1 at the Half Moon Bay Airport.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a man was driving an SUV northbound on Highway 1 when he swerved off the road, overcorrected, drifted into oncoming traffic, and collided with a sedan.
3 Suffers Major Injuries in El Granada Crash
The female driver of the sedan, the man driving the SUV, and his male passenger were transported to Stanford Hospital with serious injuries. One of the patients was airlifted to the hospital due to their condition.
Police also mentioned that they suspect the SUV driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash, and they are investigating the crash as DUI.
The collision left the highway closed in both directions until a while before 8 p.m.
