It's no secret that distracted driving accidents are a problem not only in California cities but in many other cities around the world. California cities are prone to distracted driving accidents due to a variety of factors, such as heavy traffic, the number of commuters and the presence of electronic devices.
Law enforcement has taken steps to reduce distracted driving, such as banning handheld devices, texting, and talking on a cell phone while driving. Despite these efforts, distracted driving continues to be a problem. 5 Common Causes of Distracted Driving Car Accidents
Cell phone use: Using cell phones to text, talk, or surf the internet is a major contributing factor to distracted driving accidents
In-car technology: Using in-car technology like infotainment, GPS, or entertainment systems can distract a driver and cause them to lose focus and have slower reaction times
Eating/Drinking: Eating and drinking while driving can be a distraction to the driver and increase the risk of an accident.
Personal grooming: While driving, engaging in personal grooming tasks such as applying makeup or shaving or adjusting clothing can distract a driver from the road, impairing their ability to respond to potential hazards, and lead to accidents
External Distraction: Anything that distracts a driver, such as a billboard, an advertisement, or an accident on the road, can divert their attention away from driving and result in accidents.
