Man Dies in Ocotillo Wells Motorcycle Accident on State Route 78
Ocotillo Wells, California (December 30, 2021) – An Oceanside man was killed in a motorcycle collision that happened in Ocotillo Wells on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred at around 12:30 p.m. December 30, on state Route 78 west of Split Mountain Road.
According to the report, a 36-year-old Oceanside man riding a KTM EXC-450 motorcycle was stopped along southbound SR 78 when he failed to yield to traffic and entered the roadway.
The motorcycle slammed into the right side of a Kenworth truck traveling on the roadway.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist from the motorcycle.

The rider was taken to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced deceased.
The other motorist was not injured.
Authorities said alcohol or drugs were not suspected in the incident.
The accident is under investigation.
