, Calif. – Four people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a house in Modesto on Sunday afternoon, according to the Modesto Police Department.

The crash was reported at about 12:20 p.m. December 31, in the area of Tully Road and W Orangeburg Avenue.

Police said a vehicle crashed through a fence, hit a fire hydrant and slammed into the house.

The driver of the car was pinned in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters.

The driver was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The occupants of the house, a woman and two children, were also transported with minor injuries.

Police said speed is believed to have played a role in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
