Four-Month-Old Infant Killed in Victorville Car Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway near Palmdale Road

Victorville, California (February 9, 2022) – A 4-month-old boy was killed early Tuesday morning in a car crash in Victorville, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened at about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, on Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of Palmdale Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities said a 30-year-old Apple Valley woman was driving a gray 2021 Hyundai Kona SUV northbound on Interstate 15 Freeway at an unspecified speed in the no. 3 lane when, for unknown reasons, she rear-ended a slower-moving vehicle.
Following the collision, the Hyundai became disabled in the traffic lanes.

The four-month-old infant who was a passenger of the Hyundai was taken to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
A 4-year-old boy riding in the back seat of the Hyundai was uninjured. The mother, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries.
It remains unclear whether the child seat was installed correctly or used.
