Santa Ynez Valley, CA. – Four people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The pileup was reported around 2:13 p.m. in the 1300 block of Highway 154.
The California Highway Patrol, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
The responders found four vehicles involved in the crash and blocking the roadway.
Four people were injured. One person had moderate injuries and three suffered minor injuries. AMR transported the victims to the hospital for treatment.
Several callers informed CHP dispatchers that the accident occurred when the driver of a red Volkswagen reportedly swerved into opposing lanes and collided with a sedan.
CHP officers from the Buellton area closed the highway as they worked the scene.
