Identities of 4 Killed in Del Rio Crash on McHenry Avenue at Hogue Road Released
Del Rio, CA – The Stanislaus County Coroner's Office has released the identities of four people killed in a multi-vehicle collision north of Modesto on Tuesday evening.
Four vehicles were involved in the tragic accident that took place in the area of McHenry Avenue at Hogue Road in Del Rio shortly after 4 p.m. April 9.
The California Highway Patrol said Angeles Escoto, 19, of Merced, was driving a Mitsubishi sedan when she drifted into the path of oncoming vehicles and collided head-on with a Toyota SUV driven by Patricia Lopez, 60, of Turlock.
Escoto and a passenger in her vehicle, Francis Catano, 23, of Merced, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lopez and her passenger, 20-month-old Clara Howells, of Turlock, were both pronounced deceased at area hospitals.
Two other vehicles were also involved in the accident but no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
