5 Killed in Crash on Highway 97 near Oregon Highway 58 in Klamath County

Klamath County, Ore. – Authorities are investigating a crash involving a semi- that killed five people Wednesday morning on Highway 97 in Klamath County.

The wreck happened at around 10 a.m. on Highway 97 about two miles north of the Oregon Highway 58 interchange and just south of Crescent, according to Oregon State Police.

A semi-truck collided with a vehicle in the area. Authorities said road conditions were the primary cause of the crash.

Five people were killed in the wreck.

The identities of the deceased were not immediately released.

The highway was closed for several hours but later reopened at 5 p.m.

More details regarding the wreck were not available.

An investigation is underway.
