DWP Workers Hospitalized after Hollywood Hills Accident near Barham Boulevard and Forest Lawn Drive
Hollywood Hills, California (August 19, 2022) – Five workers with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power were transported to the hospital following an explosion that occurred on an underground transformer vault in Hollywood Hills Thursday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The incident happened near Barham Boulevard and Forest Lawn Drive, near the Universal Studios backlot, at around 2 p.m. on August 18.
Authorities are still working to find out what caused the explosion.
Five workers were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
Two of the patients had minor injuries, while the other three suffered smoke inhalation injuries.
Authorities said all the patients were in fair condition.
Crews with the DWP were working to determine the cause of the incident.
